Wine & Words

As I came across the Pantego Creek Bridge this morning, the fog was so heavy that it looked like a "bridge to nowhere." Now there are some who say Belhaven is "nowhere." But you know it's the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow that's bound to be up there somewhere.

And it's the location for our annual end-of-year wine tasting dinner/customer appreciation event. Tomorrow (Friday) night from 5:30 until 8:00, I'll be pouring some of our featured Holiday Wines, as well as some favorites from the past year and a few surprises. This wine event is free with dinner at our Back Bay Cafe. And Chef Yvonne is doing her part, as well. She'll have a few tasty treats that aren't on the December menu, in addition to the scrumptious feasts that are. All this and 10% off your dinner price if you've made a reservation. Saturday evening is the Belhaven Christmas parade, beginning at 5:30. You can park at Wine & Words/The Back Bay Cafe and walk a block to see the parade and hear the special music. Then come on back to warm up and have a lovely dinner. Some folks have already reserved tables, so call us soon and let us know you're coming.

If you're behind in scheduling your gift baskets, there's still time at Wine & Words in Washington or Belhaven. Whether you want 10 baskets at $10-$15 each or one special deluxe package, we can fill the bill. Stop by either store and we'll help you pick out food items, wines, glassware, books, CD's, coffees and teas, and wrap them up elegantly for you. We'll even deliver locally.
