The Four Sisters line of wines from Southeastern Australia have, for years, been popular with our customers as great examples of Aussie winemaking at prices you can afford for every day. But that was just the Chardonnay and the Sauvignon Blanc. When Mary and I were at a tasting in Wilmington some weeks ago, we decided to give this red member of the line a try. Wow! It's just what you'd expect from an Australian Merlot. Ripe, almost jammy fruit, but with good balance and integration. We're adding it to the line at the beginning of summer because I think this will make a nice play with barbecued ribs, your special grilled burgers or, as they say in Oz, "anything from the barbie."
