Valpolicella - $9.89 Ripasso - $15.79

The Valpolicella DOC (Denominazione di Origine Controllata) in the Veneto region of northeastern Italy is the second largest DOC producing area after Chianti. This red wine is mostly from the Corvina grape, which is responsible for the light and fruity flavors.

Corte Majoli is the entry-level wine of the Tezza cousins, giving us estate-grown grapes and top notch winemaking at a very affordable price.

The regular Valpolicella is light and lively, an excellent companion to a hunk of Parmesano Reggiano cheese, some spicy sausages, or a fragrant stew.

The Ripassa is made by pouring wine over grapes that have been dried to raisins. This is the way the rich and spicy Amarone wines are made. The method yields a richer fruit, a tasty wine that pairs with spicy and bold dishes or can be enjoyed on its own with a friend.
