Goat Lady Dairy

When the North Carolina Department of Agriculture granted our goat dairy license in 1996, one of only a handful in the state, it was only natural for us to take the name "Goat Lady Dairy." Ginnie raised goats as a hobby for many years and was affectionately known by her friends and customers as "the Goat Lady." Our name also signifies to us that our goats are ladies with gentility, grace and individual character! Our herd consists of three breeds: the pure white Saanen, the long-eared Nubian and the multi-colored French Alpine dairy goats. We keep a herd of only 50-75 goats in order to maintain maximum herd health and keep our operation simple. We follow the natural dairy cycle, milking for ten months of the year, breeding in the fall and kidding in early spring. Mid-December to mid-February is our "Sabbath" time when goats and farmers rest, rejuvenate and prepare for the next cycle. Each spring we sell more than 100 purebred baby goats for family herds.

Chapel Hill Creamery

Chapel Hill CreameryChapel Hill Creamery is a small dairy farm and farmstead cheesemaking facility. We chose Jersey cows for their rich milk, which makes great cheese. Our cows spend their time on pasture, and we've established an intensive rotational grazing system to ensure that they'll have access to high quality grass during their milking season. We milk and make cheese from March through December, when our pasture, and therefore our milk, are best.

RayLen Vineyards Barrel Chardonnay

The Yadkin Valley's unique microclimate and soils have proven to be optimal for growing European varietals. RayLen's estate vineyards include Chardonnay, Viognier, Pinot Grigio, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Shiraz.

Westbend Vineyards

Westbend Vineyards is located in Lewisville, North Carolina. The 60 acres of prime vinifera vineyards are neatly tucked into the gently rolling countryside in the northwest corner of Forsyth County, where the Yadkin Valley begins. The name Westbend refers to the Yadkin River, which takes a bend to the west in this area and has given the name to the region.

Verjus (literally “green juice”) is made from unripe grapes. It has the sour tang of vinegar, yet it also has grape sugars that caramelize when cooked as sauces.

Isaiah’s Favorite Bar Be Que Sauce

A Carolina red sauce that’s not too spicy, not too sweet. Made “especially for you” by Belhaven native David Davis as a tribute to his sons Isaiah and Shane who died in accidents. Isaiah’s smiling face is pictured on the label enjoying the best darn sauce this side of heaven. Definitely a labor of love.

Signolia’s Balsamic Vinaigrette

Eve and Jerry Martin started bottling Signolia’s Balsamic Vinaigrette in Waxhaw, NC in May of 2002. Developing this product really started as a hobby, but it quickly blossomed into a successful business and for that they are blessed and thankful. Eve named the balsamic after “a middle-aged black woman who, through undeniably great cooking, had cornered the catering market. In a very real way, she, her servers and bartenders were the spirit of this time for me. Through the veil of memory, Signolia has come to stand for good food and friends enjoyed in a more gracious, innocent time.” Visit the website for recipes and uses for this very versatile sauce.

Anson Mills

In 1998 Glenn Roberts, a Charleston-based historic restoration consultant and thirty-year veteran of restaurant and hotel concept design, steered his career down a radical path. He sold his worldly possessions and rented a big metal warehouse behind a car wash in Columbia, South Carolina. He bought 4 native granite mills and 40 chest freezers.

Glenn's plan was ambitious, some might say mad: he intended to grow, harvest and mill near-extinct varieties of heirloom corn, rice, and wheat organically, and re-create ingredients that were in the Southern larder before the Civil War. Grits, cornmeal, Carolina Gold rice, graham and biscuit flour, milled fresh for the table daily, had helped create a celebrated regional cuisine--America's first cuisine, the Carolina Rice Kitchen. We get grits, flour and rice direct from the mill.

Carolina Strawberries

North Carolina ranks fourth in the nation in strawberry production with approximately 1,800 acres of strawberries harvested each year. There are several pick-your-own or roadside market operations in Beaufort County. When the strawberries are "in" they're on our menu!
